Angmar is the source of most of the evil of the Shadows of Angmar volume of The Lord of the Rings Online. It's home to the Witch-king of (you guessed it) Angmar, the right-hand man of the Dark Lord Sauron.

In previous interviews with Turbine, we've heard about their interest in developing an MMO on the console. There was speculation of a Harry Potter MMO, following some venture funding by Warner Bros, but now we have a piece of information that might put the console spotlight back on Lord of the Rings Online.

All former subscribers will be able to play for free between October 2nd and 6th. Additionally, everyone (old players and new alike) will receive 25% more experience during that period. This is obviously intended to re-hook veterans so they'll buy the Mines of Moria expansion when it comes out. Nothing wrong with that, we suppose

If the immensity of the new underground zones featured in the Mines of Moria expansion hasn't sunk in just yet, the newest set of screens should help clear any fog of uncertainty.

It seems that the recent festival has brought in more Lord of the Rings Online pictures in from far and wide. Rhedbjerd writes in and tells us more about this particular screenshot: This one didn't come out as well as I'd hoped, but it's a pic of the Laer En Tul Acharn kinship crossing the Ford of Bruinen in the central Trollshaws on the way to Rivendell.
